West Salem Woman Arrested for Suspected OVI After Crash on U.S. Route 42
ASHLAND COUNTY – The Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with Ashland Fire Department and EMS, responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 42 just south of Township Road 753 at approximately 6:31 p.m. this evening.
According to Troopers, 54-year-old Tami Dreher of West Salem, Ohio, was traveling southbound in a 2015 Kia Optima when she lost control and veered off the right side of the roadway, crashing into a deep ditch line.
Ashland EMS personnel evaluated Dreher at the scene for minor injuries. She was medically cleared by emergency responders.
Following the crash, Dreher was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI). A breath alcohol test revealed a blood alcohol concentration of .197—nearly two and a half times the legal limit of .08 in Ohio.
In addition to the OVI charge, Dreher was also cited for Failure to Control.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
