93-Year-Old Driver Injured in Rollover Crash on George Road
ASHLAND COUNTY — Ohio State Highway Patrol along with the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Ashland Police Division, and Ashland Fire Department & EMS responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash with entrapment Sunday afternoon on George Road, just south of the Ashland city limits.
The crash occurred around 1 p.m. in the 1400 block of County Road 805 (George Road).
93-year-old Gordon Dallas of Ashland was traveling northbound in a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado when the pickup went off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a mailbox and then hit a driveway culvert, which caused it to ramp into the air and land back into the ditch, striking a second mailbox and a tree before overturning and coming to rest in the ditch line.
Firefighters worked to safely remove Dallas from the overturned vehicle, cutting through the windshield to free him. He was transported by Ashland Fire & EMS to Ohio-Health Mansfield Hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
