James, described as 6’1”, 200 pounds, with red hair and blue eyes, was last seen in Columbus, Ohio when he left for his home in Polk, Ohio.

Search efforts have included aerial drones, cadaver dogs, ground patrols, and a thorough canvassing of the surrounding area.

His black 2012 Toyota hatchback was discovered parked behind the Der Dutchman Restaurant in Bellville, Ohio. Detectives believe he arrived there around 1:15pm on January 5, 2025. Inside the vehicle, Detectives found his cell phone along with other items that may assist in the investigation.

The motion-activated cameras, impacted by the restaurant’s renovation, offered limited coverage. Law enforcement is in the process of collecting additional video from nearby businesses and highways along State Route 97.

“There’s no evidence of foul play or self-harm at this time,” Detective Crites added. “We’ve exhausted many resources and will continue to pursue every possible lead.”

Flyers have been distributed throughout Bellville and Columbus, urging residents and businesses to check for any surveillance footage or information regarding James’ disappearance. “Any tips, even seemingly minor, could be helpful,” said Detective Crites.
