Ashland Couple Mike & Stacy Simmons Named Semi-Finalists for America’s Favorite Couple
ASHLAND — Love, laughter, and a whole lot of family—that’s what makes Ashland residents Mike and Stacy Simmons shine. The couple, married for 23 years, has been selected as a semi-finalist in the nationwide America’s Favorite Couple competition, where the grand prize winner will receive $20,000 and be featured in Variety magazine.
For Mike and Stacy, this recognition is about more than just a contest—it’s a chance to share their journey of resilience, faith, and family. “If I had to sum it up in two words, it would be faith and family,” said Mike Simmons, who serves as pastor of New Beginnings Crossroads Fellowship in Pleasant Home. “We put God first in everything, and we’ve always had a heart for our community.”
The Simmons’ story began at work, where two people with past hurts and broken marriages found hope and healing in each other. Over the years, that bond only grew stronger, marked by forgiveness, laughter, and a commitment to being “the life of the party.”
One of their most cherished memories was adopting four siblings in 2014, expanding their family to seven children. Today, they are also proud grandparents of two. “Our favorite thing to do is make memories with our kids and grandkids,” Stacy shared. “Life is too short, and we love to make the most of every moment.”
The Simmons family loves to travel—whether it’s whale watching in Alaska or enjoying simple family vacations. If they win the $20,000 prize, they already know how they’ll use it: a dream trip to Iceland and Norway.
Beyond their family life, Mike and Stacy have long been active in community service. Years ago, they ran The Lord’s Pantry food ministry and organized Christmas outreach programs. Today, their ministry has grown online, reaching across state lines—so much so that people are traveling to Ohio this September just to be baptized.
