Ashland Law Enforcement Torch Run Set for May 28 to Benefit Special Olympics

ASHLAND — Law enforcement officers and community members will once again lace up their running shoes in support of a notable cause as the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is set to return on May 28, 2026.

The run will begin at 4 p.m., bringing together local officers and supporters to raise funds for the Special Olympics and benefit the Ashland County Dragons, the area’s local Special Olympics team.

Participants will start the run at the Ashland Police Department, carrying the symbolic flaming torch through the city. The route will take runners down Main Street, where they will meet up with Special Olympics athletes at Dairy Queen before continuing on to the finish line at Corner Park, located at West Main Street and Claremont Avenue.

The Torch Run is part of a nationwide effort led by law enforcement agencies to support Special Olympics programs, helping provide year-round sports training and competition opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Community members are encouraged to show their support by attending, cheering on participants, or making donations. A QR code is available on the event flyer for those wishing to contribute directly to the cause.

For additional information about the event or how to get involved, individuals can contact Kara Pearce at 419-606-1140.
