Bellville Police Officer Injured During Light Up the Valley Event
BELLVILLE — A Bellville Police officer was injured late Saturday night while performing traffic control duties during the annual Light Up the Valley celebration.
According to a press release from Chief Jon Fletcher, the incident occurred on June 29, 2025, at approximately 10:59 p.m., when the officer was struck by a vehicle. The officer was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield for treatment and has since been released to recover at home.
Chief Fletcher emphasized that the investigation remains active, but initial findings do not indicate any intent or malicious action behind the incident.
