BIG BEAUTIFUL BUNNIES BOUNCE INTO DOWNTOWN ASHLAND SPRING OFFICIALLY ARRIVES
ASHLAND, Ohio – Move over winter… spring has officially hopped into downtown Ashland in the most colorful way possible.
If you thought Peggy’s Pumpkin People stole the show in the fall, just wait until you see what’s now popping up across the heart of the city Peggy’s BIG BEAUTIFUL BUNNIES have arrived, and they’re already turning heads, drawing smiles, and giving the community a brand-new reason to celebrate the season.
Early this morning, as a light fog lifted over downtown, the surprise was revealed vibrant, artistic bunny displays scattered throughout the area, bringing a playful burst of springtime charm.
And just like their autumn counterparts, these creations come with a story rooted in community creativity.
A NEW SPRING TRADITION IS BORN
Ashland Mayor Matt Miller shared his excitement in a phone interview, explaining how the idea came to life following the overwhelming success of the Pumpkin People displays.
“We are so excited to have the Big Beautiful Bunnies downtown this year for the very first time this spring,” Miller said. “After seeing how much the community loved the pumpkin people, Peggy came up with the idea to bring something special to the spring season.”
That idea quickly grew into a full-blown community project.
Peggy Yoder, alongside her daughter Liz, designed each of the bunnies before working with the same artists who created the beloved Pumpkin People ensuring the same level of creativity and charm Ashland residents have come to expect.
COMMUNITY COLLABORATION AT ITS BEST
This latest downtown addition wouldn’t have been possible without the support of several familiar names in the community.
A BIG thank you goes out to:
Dr. Steve Yoder & Peggy Yoder
Vicky Lippert, a longtime supporter of Ashland’s beautification efforts
Many residents will recognize Lippert as a key contributor behind the city’s stunning summer flower displays, which will soon return to line the streets in hanging baskets and decorative pots later this spring.
FOUR SEASONS OF SMALL-TOWN MAGIC
With the addition of the Big Beautiful Bunnies, Ashland is quickly building something special a year-round tradition of seasonal displays that bring life, color, and personality to downtown.
While there were once ideas tossed around about winter-themed displays like snowmen, Mayor Miller says the city is now proud to have each season covered with its own unique charm.
“We’ve got wonderful, colorful, friendly additions to look forward to each season,” he said.
A MUST-SEE (AND MUST-PHOTOGRAPH) MOMENT
From families and kids to visitors passing through, the bunnies are already becoming a hotspot for photos and smiles.
And if the reaction mirrors what we saw with the Pumpkin People, don’t be surprised if these Big Beautiful Bunnies become a beloved springtime tradition for years to come.
Bottom line if you haven’t made your way downtown yet… now’s the time.
Spring has arrived in Ashland… and it’s got ears.
