Brandon Mosher Returned to Jail After Alleged Bond Violations
ASHLAND — The Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office has moved to revoke the bond of former Polk-Jackson-Perry Fire Chief Brandon Richard Mosher, alleging he violated strict court-ordered conditions prohibiting him from accessing the internet or possessing electronic devices.
According to court records filed December 5, Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Matthew Metcalf told the court that Mosher, 36, repeatedly used electronic devices and gained access to online platforms after posting bond earlier this fall. The restriction was originally imposed August 22 as part of Mosher’s release conditions in a child sexual exploitation case.
Metcalf detailed instances in which Mosher allegedly signed into new devices, altered security settings on social media and email accounts, applied for jobs online, and attempted to unlock a financial app by sending a photo of himself holding his driver’s license. The prosecutor argued the violations demonstrate behavior that poses continued risk to the community.

“The State alleges this Defendant caused significant harm to many members of the community when he previously had access to the Internet,” Metcalf wrote, asking the court to revoke Mosher’s bond and order him back into custody.
Bond Revoked — Mosher Back in Custody
On December 5, Ashland County Common Pleas Court Magistrate Emily M. Bates granted the motion and issued a bench warrant for Mosher’s arrest. Law enforcement was ordered to locate Mosher and return him to custody. Court logs confirm he was booked into the Ashland County Jail later that day.
Current Charges
Mosher is currently charged in Case No. 25-CRI-137 with:
- Pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person — 2nd-degree felony
- Pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person — 4th-degree felony
- Illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material — 5th-degree felony
If convicted, Mosher faces multiple years in prison, with the most serious charge carrying up to eight years.

Mosher initially pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released after posting a $30,000 deposit on a $300,000 bond co-signed by himself and his wife. With the bond now revoked, Mosher will remain in custody pending further proceedings.
The case — State of Ohio vs. Brandon Richard Mosher — remains active and under investigation.
