Car Strikes Two Horses on County Road 620 – Driver Life Flighted with Serious Injuries

ASHLAND COUNTY – The Ohio State Highway Patrol, along with Polk Jackson Fire and EMS, responded to a serious crash involving a vehicle and two horses early this morning.

According to the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:58 a.m. on County Road 620 when 67-year-old Kathy Snyder of West Salem was driving a 2021 Chevy Malibu westbound. Snyder’s vehicle struck two horses in the roadway, crossed the center line, and came to rest in the ditch on the opposite side.

Emergency personnel from Polk Jackson Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported Snyder to the Ashland County Airport, where she was then life-flighted to Akron General Hospital with serious injuries.

Tragically, one of the horses passed away shortly after the crash, while the second horse is being treated by a veterinarian for its injuries.

The Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
