Failure to Yield Leads to Rollover Crash at SR 603 and U.S. 42; One Seriously Injured

ASHLAND COUNTY — A New London woman was cited Friday evening after authorities say she failed to stop at a posted stop sign, causing a two-vehicle crash that left one passenger seriously injured and sent another driver to the hospital.

The crash occurred at 7:41 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 603 and U.S. Route 42.

According to OSHP Troopers, 43-year-old Sarah Evans was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox northwest on State Route 603 when she did not stop at the intersection’s stop sign. Evans’ vehicle entered the roadway and collided with a 2010 Ford F-150 traveling northeast on U.S. 42.

The pickup, driven by 54-year-old Timothy Ozbun of Ashland, was forced off the right side of the highway into the parking lot of a nearby mulch business. The impact caused the truck to overturn, strike a traffic sign, and continue off-road before hitting a wooden barrier and concrete blocks.

Ozbun was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital by a family member for evaluation.

His passenger, 71-year-old Joanne Pratt of Ashland, suffered serious injuries and was transported to OhioHealth Mansfield by Ashland EMS.

Evans reported no injuries at the scene. Troopers cited her for failure to yield at a stop sign.

Responding agencies included the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, the Ashland Police Division, and the Ashland Fire Department & EMS.

Sorry I’m just now getting this out, I had done a live video from the scene, but failed to do a follow up. this crash was on 11-21-2025
