Fatal Motorcycle Crash on State Route 83 in Medina County
Medina County, OH – On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at approximately 8:38 p.m., the Medina County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Route 83 (Avon Lake Road) near Depot Road in Harrisville Township.
The crash involved a 2007 Mitsubishi four-door sedan and a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 56-year-old Robert Arndt.
Preliminary investigation indicates the northbound 2002 Harley-Davidson traveled left of center and struck the sedan, which was traveling southbound in the proper lane of travel.
Mr. Arndt was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. The operator of the sedan was transported by Lodi EMS with non-life-threating injuries.
At this time, it is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and the Medina County Coroner’s Office.
Assisting at the scene were Ohio State Highway Patrol, Lodi Police Department, Lodi Fire and Rescue and Alternative Paths of Medina County.
