Groundbreaking Ceremony set for Home2 Suites by Hilton

Premier Development to begin in City’s Pump House District

Ashland, Ohio—Columbus-based developer Moment Development, in partnership with the City of Ashland and Ashland Area Economic Development, will soon break ground on the future site of Home2 Suites by Hilton, a premier development in Ashland’s Pump House District. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 19 at 2:00p.m. at 400 Orange Street, Ashland, Ohio.

“We are so excited to see this long-awaited project begin, and I am so thankful for Moment Development’s decision to invest in Ashland’s new Pump House District,” said Mayor Matt Miller. “This historic building actually served as the office headquarters to the F.E. Myers Pump Co. for many years, and it is the very building where the entire district gets its name. This new one-of-kind hotel will play an invaluable role in our downtown’s future.”

A first-of-its-kind development, this property will be the first time Moment will transform an existing building into a commercial investment property. Roughly a $21.5 million dollar project, the over 68,000 square foot hotel will feature 94 suite-style rooms, a conference room and fitness center, plus a marketplace and complimentary breakfast area.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Home2 Suites brand to Ashland and contribute to the city’s continued growth and momentum,” said Chris Knapton, VP of Development. “This project reflects Moment Development’s commitment to creating high-quality hospitality options that serve both travelers and the local community. Ashland has been an incredible partner throughout this process, and we look forward to delivering a hotel that supports local businesses, welcomes new visitors, and enhances the region’s economic vitality.”

Construction is expected to begin in December 2025.
