ASHLAND/MANSFIELD – Motorists traveling along State Route 96 are urged to use extra caution over the next two days as significant Amish buggy traffic is expected in the area.
Authorities and community members are advising drivers to be alert as hundreds of Amish buggies, vans, and pedestrians will be traveling to and from gatherings on Thursday, September 4, and Friday, September 5. The increased traffic is due to an Amish wedding scheduled for Thursday, followed by an Amish funeral on Friday.
Travelers should anticipate heavy buggy traffic from early morning until late evening on both days, particularly along State Route 96 and connecting roads. Drivers are reminded to reduce speed, avoid distractions, and allow extra time for travel in order to ensure the safety of all roadway users.
