John Keim Announces Candidacy for Montgomery Township Trustee
ASHLAND — John Keim, 19, has officially declared his candidacy for Montgomery Township Trustee. If elected, he would become the youngest elected official in Ashland County’s history and potentially the State of Ohio.
Born and raised in the heart of Ohio, Keim is stepping up to serve the community he’s long been involved in — bringing a fresh perspective, deep local roots, and a strong commitment to public service.
“I’m running for township trustee because I believe Montgomery Township deserves leadership that is both energetic and accountable,” Keim said. “As someone who’s grown up here, I understand the importance of responsive local government, and I am thrilled to serve the people in my community.”
Keim’s platform centers around financial transparency, effective infrastructure investment, and accessible leadership. He has pledged to make township government more open and responsive, while ensuring tax dollars are spent wisely and public trust is strengthened.
If elected, Keim would make Ohio history — not just as the youngest person to ever serve as a township trustee in the state of Ohio, but also as a leader who proves that commitment and integrity matter more than age.
John is currently a student at Ashland University, studying Political Science, Journalism, and Public Relations. In his spare time, John is a Host on 88.9 WRDL’s local morning show and owns and operates a local freelance photography business.
