Juvenile Pulled from Pond After Apparent Drowning Incident in Ashland County

ASHLAND COUNTY, OH – Emergency crews responded to a rural property Thursday morning after receiving a 911 call reporting a 17-year-old juvenile male drowning in a pond.

Ashland County Sheriff’s deputies, along with personnel from Polk EMS, Sullivan EMS, and Ashland EMS, responded to the scene.

According to the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, dispatchers received the call at 9:20 a.m. on June 12, 2025, regarding an unresponsive juvenile in the water at 399 Township Road 462. The caller reported CPR was already in progress when first responders were en route.

Onlookers at the scene had pulled the male from the pond and immediately began life-saving efforts.

The juvenile was transported by Sullivan EMS squad to University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland for treatment.

No additional information about the victim’s condition has been released at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
