Krissi Fussner Responds to a previous story ACP ran on October, 9th, called Krissi Fussner Announces Independent Run for Ashland County Commissioner

I decided to do a ” follow up” story on the story ran about my campaign by Ashland county pictures. Since it was received so well by the good old boys of Ashland county. A picture I chose of me with ! Gasp! Purple hair was the talk of over 450 comments. Yes in this big scary political mess of a country, HAIR color was the takeaway.  I picked a picture of myself without a dog in it, as I’ve received lots of criticism about ” only caring about the dog shelter”. I don’t have many pictures of just myself, so I used one of me taken last November from a beauty academy I was taking a course at. Yes I’m a cosmetologist. Lord I believe I created the 8th deadly sin by the comments!!

So let me address this here. I love purple 💜. Purple is the COLOR OF RESCUE, which is my passion. Do you know what else the color purple represents?? DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!! I am a survivor. And next to my passion for rescue is my deepest passion for domestic violence survivors. One lovely “gentleman” making rude comments actually has a daughter taking Cosmetology in school right now. I pray that she never comes home with purple hair, green hair, blue hair. She’d probably be sent off to one of those horrific Wilderness camps for kids. So to the majority of women who commented like adults….Thank you for actually reading the article. Lots of you are questioning whether I’m a hypocrite for running as an Independent. ” She must be a registered Democrat”. Well Karen I’m a registered Independent because I ACTUALLY RESEARCH CANDIDATES AND POLICIES AND VOTE ACCORDINGLY. I’ll include a picture in my comments of the official Board of Elections list of registered voters, so you can see there is no letter next to my name.

I am who I am. Since I was a child, I’ve always been an activist. I started with scotch taping pictures I drew as a kid, that said ” Hurt the people who hurt the animals” on to telephone poles. Yes back then I was a little radical 😁. Today I will fight for the voiceless first and foremost. Whether that’s a dog at the shelter, a homeless man, an elderly veteran or the people of brown skin. I decided to run for Commissioner because nobody else has stepped up in past years and our current administration believes in the good old boy system not the entirety of this county.

This year though candidates are coming out of the woodwork to run! That’s awesome…..except they are all running in one party. It’s time Ashland county wakes up and catches up with more advanced counties, stop judging a book by its cover. Just because they run as a Republican, does that really mean to you that you don’t need to research because they must be good people?? Or is it just easier to be blind sheep following the herd? You don’t have to do any work!

I’ve never made it a secret that I oppose this current administration in OUR White HOUSE.  I have never in my life thought he was a man of good character and I absolutely wouldn’t want him around my daughter. I’ve said this long before he got involved in politics. These are my beliefs and I am still entitled to them ( at least for now). To run for a county position do you have to pretend you’re someone you’re not? Do I have to ” tow the line” ” play nice in the sandbox” ” Pretend to agree”???? If that’s the case then I will opt out. If you can’t be true to who you are as an individual then what is the point? Washington is full of the blind leading the blind. How boring of a life it must be to all be the same.

So I will stay in this race because I truly have the best interest for ALL the people in this county. I’d go to bat for every one of you……even you Mr. Deweese who asked if the circus was hiring “bearded fat ladies”. If you sat down and chatted with me, you’d actually see I’m one hell of a human being who wants the best for everyone…..not just the 5% wealthiest folks. So as we learned in preschool…..” If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”. I’m not going away. I’m standing tall for all the domestic violence survivors, all the underdog’s all of Ashland county…..even if you hate me because I had purple hair. Because I truly believe it’s “WE THE PEOPLE, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA……..” WE 💜‼️‼️‼️‼️
