Life Wise Sunday with Joel Penton

Life Wise Sunday with Joel Penton

Sunday, October 26, 2025

Ashland County was the first to open LifeWise Academy’s in all of its schools.  Since the announcement of Life Wise Academy at the Sacred Assembly in the summer of 2020, Ashland County was a leader.

To celebrate the growth and span of LifeWise across the United States, we are honoring the founder and CEO of LifeWise, Joel Penton on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Bethel Chapel in Savannah at the 10:45 am worship service.

Joel Penton will be preaching at Bethel and joining all the volunteers, workers, teachers and directors to celebrate.  Zane Gross, president of the Hillsdale Schools Life Wise Academy and Buddy Workman, Regional Representative for LifeWise Academy will be presenting the history of LifeWise for our county and making a presentation to honor Joel Penton.

The Constitution of the United States of America provides us the opportunity and the 1952 US Supreme Court decision, Zorach vs Clauson 343 U.S. 306 (1952) provides the parameters.

Every school district can have a LifeWise Academy with the following 3 conditions: (1) The students must be off school property; (2) Every student enrolled must have parent permission; and (3) the program must be privately funded.

Madilyn Murray O’Hare led a campaign in 1949 while living in Hayesville, Ohio. She worked tirelessly to have the Bible and prayer removed from the public school system in the 1963 Supreme Court decision, Abington School District v Schempp (1963).

The ambition of LifeWise is to give every student, in every school in every state the opportunity to study the Bible.  Join us Sunday, October 26 @ 10:45 AM to hear more about it.
