Loudonville Police Arrest Theft Suspect with Help from Public and Area Agencies

LOUDONVILLE, OH – A suspect in a theft and criminal trespassing case has been arrested after an investigation by the Loudonville Police Department, thanks in part to public tips and assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to Captain Sean Gorrell, the investigation began on May 28, 2025, when officers received a report of a theft and criminal trespassing incident that occurred three days earlier in the 200 block of W. Main Street in Loudonville. Surveillance footage capturing images of both the suspect and a vehicle involved was promptly released on the department’s Facebook page.

With the public’s help, police quickly identified the suspect and his place of residence in Butler, Ohio.

On May 29, officers from the Loudonville Police Department executed a search warrant at the suspect’s home. The search resulted in the recovery of the stolen items and the arrest of the suspect at the scene. He is now facing multiple charges, including Theft, Criminal Trespassing, Possession of Criminal Tools, and Criminal Mischief.

Loudonville officers were assisted during the operation by the Butler Police Department, Bellville Police Department, and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

“The Loudonville Police Department takes all property crimes, such as what Mr. Griffith is being accused of committing, very seriously,” said Captain Gorrell. “We want all residents and businesses in town to know that their properties are being looked after by the Loudonville Police Department. Once we learned of the identity of the suspect, we immediately took action to secure a search warrant to search his residence for the stolen items.”

The Loudonville Police Department extended its gratitude to the community members who provided valuable information, as well as to the assisting law enforcement agencies.

As with all criminal cases, the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
