Matthew 25 Outreach Center to Host Free Grocery Distribution June 28 in Ashland
ASHLAND — The Matthew 25 Outreach Center of Ashland County is inviting the community to take part in a free grocery distribution event on Saturday, June 28. The drive-through event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot next to University Hospitals Urgent Care, located at 663 E. Main Street in Ashland.
Open to all individuals and families in need, the event aims to provide essential food items while offering a message of compassion and care.
“We provide food to anyone in need, while sharing God’s love and peace with all we encounter,” the outreach center stated in a public invitation. “This work requires the help of many volunteers—so bring your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers to join us.”
Volunteers are needed starting at 7 a.m. for various tasks including unloading food deliveries, packaging bulk items into family-sized portions, registering families, managing traffic, and delivering groceries to homes. Opportunities are available for all ages and abilities.
Those unable to volunteer on the day of the event can still contribute by delivering shelf-stable food boxes to seniors across Ashland County throughout the month or helping install yard signs ahead of the event.
Organizers encourage attendees and volunteers to dress for the weather, as the entire event will be outdoors. Restroom facilities and a break area will be available inside the nearby bowling alley.
