MANSFIELD — A major drug investigation conducted by the METRICH Enforcement Unit resulted in the seizure of approximately 91 pounds of suspected methamphetamine and the arrest of one individual following the execution of a search warrant Monday in Mansfield.
According to a METRICH news release, detectives—assisted by the Mansfield Police Department—executed a drug-related search warrant on January 12, 2026, at 631 West Fourth Street in Mansfield, Richland County. The warrant was authorized by Mansfield Municipal Court Judge Michael Kemerer and included a search of a residence and two vehicles.

During the search, investigators recovered the large quantity of suspected methamphetamine, along with other illegal drugs, $975 in U.S. currency, and additional drug-related evidence.
As a result of the investigation, Emmanuel Washington was arrested and incarcerated. He is facing three counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine (F-1) and one count of Possession of Methamphetamine (F-1). Authorities say additional drug-related charges will be forwarded to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

METRICH officials emphasized that the enforcement unit remains committed to targeting individuals who bring and distribute illegal drugs in the community.
“The METRICH Enforcement Unit will continue to aggressively pursue those responsible for drug trafficking and distribution,” the release stated, while also encouraging the public to remain vigilant and report suspected drug activity.
