Miracle Dog

Miracle Dog

Tiger, a black Lab puppy, worked through a most trying time in his young life. He was right there, unwavering. His spirit never diminished. He sprang into action, in a window of time where both sadness and joy were present in the most extreme sense.

Brooks, an older black Lab, was going to get that frog even if it killed him. Frog was at the bottom of the bank that led into the huge pond. As Brooks stalked his prey, he lost his balance and tumbled into the deep end of the water.
Humans, Eli and Holly, soon realized that Brooks couldn’t swim and was drowning. Before Eli could pull off his shirt and jump into the pond, Holly screamed, “Eli, Tiger jumped into the water from the other side of the pond and disappeared!”

Before Tiger ran to help his buddy, he could smell the emotion of fear on his humans by using his 200 million olfactory receptors in his nose. He could hear Brooks struggling because pups can hear sounds at four times the distance humans can, and they also have a powerful sense of touch. And dogs have a sixth sense; he could read the panic before his human jumped into the deep pond to rescue his brother.
Because Tiger knew about the reality of the impending crisis, he jumped into the murky water and disappeared. Eli and Holly were in shock as they watched both dogs fighting for their lives… but then they witnessed a miracle!
Tiger swam underwater until he reached Brooks, lifted his ninety-pound brother up onto his back and delivered him into the loving arms of their humans.

Holly buried her head in Tigers fur and let the tears flow unchecked. As Eli looked from Tiger to Brooks, he felt a tiny glimpse of what the friendship and saving grace of God looked like.
