“No Kings” Rally Planned in Ashland This Saturday

ASHLAND, Ohio — A locally organized rally tied to a broader national movement is scheduled to take place this weekend in downtown Ashland.

According to event organizers, the “No Kings Ashland, Ohio” rally will be held Saturday, March 28 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Corner Park, 279 W. Main Street.

The event is part of a nationwide series of demonstrations promoted through the “No Kings” movement, which organizers describe as a response to concerns about government power, civil rights, and economic pressures facing Americans.

Information published on the group’s website outlines the movement’s message, stating that the United States is founded on the principle that power belongs to the people, not to any single leader. The statement also expresses opposition to what organizers describe as threats to civil liberties, rising costs of living, and political leadership they view as overreaching.

Organizers say the Ashland gathering is volunteer-led and intended to be a peaceful demonstration.

“What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national movement,” organizers wrote, noting participation has spread from small towns to larger cities across the country.

Event details emphasize that the rally will follow a strict commitment to nonviolence, with participants expected to act lawfully and work to de-escalate any potential conflicts. Organizers also state that no weapons of any kind should be brought to the event, even if legally permitted.

As with any public gathering, motorists and pedestrians in the downtown area may experience increased foot traffic during the event window.
