Passenger Dies Following Wayne Township Crash

Wayne Township, Ohio — A 100-year-old passenger has died following a two-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon in Wayne Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at approximately 2:00 p.m. on November 23, 2025, at the intersection of County Road 78 (Hutton Road) and County Road 6 (Friendsville Road). Troopers from the Wooster Post responded after receiving reports of an injury crash involving two pickup trucks.

According to Troopers, Karalee Butkovich, 73, of Lodi, was driving a red 2026 Chevrolet Colorado westbound on County Road 78 when she failed to stop at a posted stop sign at County Road 6. Her vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a southbound blue 2002 Ford Ranger driven by Pamela Cromer, 64, of Creston.

Pamela Cromer and her two passengers — Dolly Cromer, 100, of Wadsworth, and Charity Cromer, 41, of Creston — were transported to Wooster Community Hospital. Troopers said both Pamela and Dolly Cromer suffered injuries described as serious but not immediately life-threatening.

On November 24, the Highway Patrol was notified that Dolly Cromer had died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Wooster Fire and EMS, and Central Fire District EMS assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
