Representative Miller Announces Upcoming Capital Budget Process

Local Governments and Non-Profits Invited to Submit Project Applications

COLUMBUS—State Representative Melanie Miller (R-Ashland) today announced that the General Assembly will begin the capital budget process for fiscal years 2027-28. The capital budget is one of Ohio’s five main budgets and focuses on brick-and-mortar projects funded by state bonds.

These dollars are used on physical state assets across state agencies but also support community projects throughout state. Past projects have included local jail facilities, parks and recreation facilities, recreational trails, technology centers, and a variety of other projects.

Local governments and non-profit organizations interested in submitting a project to be considered should reach out to the office of Representative Miller for information on project applications. Generally, projects should have a public use, be physical in nature, and include local matching funds. Applications must be submitted to Miller’s office no later than Thursday, March 12, for review by the Representative.

Past budgets can be found on the Legislative Service Commission’s budget page.
