Rodent Infestation Forces Closure of Ashland Discount Drug Mart, Health Board Says
ASHLAND – Discount Drug Mart on Claremont Avenue has been temporarily closed after the Ashland County Board of Health declared a severe rodent infestation an “imminent health hazard,” according to reporting from Ashland Source.
Health officials said the store must remain closed until it meets health and safety standards. The pharmacy’s prescriptions will be transferred to nearby locations, and contaminated products must be discarded.
Environmental Health Director Kimberly Wayman investigated the issue Tuesday, citing employee complaints and evidence of rodent activity. The Ohio Board of Pharmacy will handle any medication concerns.
