DIANNE’S DOGHOUSE
SEASONS OF LIFE
Last Christmas Eve, as our family of eleven gathered together for dinner, Ken and I passed out two cards with envelopes to each person. We asked them to write their thoughts about their past and hopes and dreams for the future; such as what comes to mind of something in your past that influenced your life and what opportunities do you wish for in the future.
All were instructed to go to a quiet space by themselves, listen to their heart and fill out the cards. When we meet on Christmas Eve in 2025 we will open the cards to share with each other.
Christmas seems to make us think more, listen more and pay more attention to our surroundings. Because I’ve lived here forever, it’s easy for me to be available to comfort those who have lost loved ones whether it is a child, spouse, parent or puppy. I am here to help with special teenagers and provide food for folks coping with illness and of course sharing my pups with everyone. I love my town.
There seems to be more traffic these days as our town’s visibility grows. More opportunities to visit and talk-not text. The world could use more random acts of kindness and one simple gesture can make all the difference to someone who’s hit a hard stretch.
My wish for you is to think about you past and future. Cherish each day you spend in this special town with people who add sweetness and light and warmth to your days.
Blessings and Merry Christmas,
