Single Vehicle Crash into Swamp
Ashland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident, at 1486 Ruggles Township Road 388, around 6:45pm, for a vehicle that crashed into a swampy area.
The caller reported that the horn keeps going off, with the back window down, and passenger side window is down, and the sunroof is open.
Emergency crews quickly checked the vehicle for the driver but were unable to locate anyone in the car.
Lexington Police were requested to check the owner’s address, to see if the driver had someone take him home.
Richland County Sheriff’s Office, along with Huron County Sheriff’s Office, responded to check the area near the crash site, in their counties, for the driver walking. Huron County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate the driver, Jordan Harvey, of Lexington, Ohio, and return him to the scene.
A Gearheart’s Towing & Recovery driver had to take a swim of sorts, to recover the vehicle.
Ashland County Sheriff’s Office said the crash remains under investigation at this time.
