Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash Sends One to Hospital on U.S. Route 30
ASHLAND COUNTY — Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Hayesville Fire Department & EMS along with Mifflin Fire Department. responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash this evening along U.S. Route 30.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 6:47 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 30, just west of State Route 511.
The driver Laura Statler, 47, of Akron, who was traveling eastbound in a 2026 Nissan Rogue when her vehicle left the roadway. Statler told Troopers she believed she struck something before losing control. The vehicle went off the side of the road, struck a guardrail, overturned, down a ravine, and ultimately came to rest against a tree.
Statler was transported by Hayesville EMS to UH Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland as a precaution due to the nature of the crash. Troopers classified her injuries as minor.
Troopers confirmed seat-belt use, which they said likely prevented more serious injuries.
No drug or alcohol impairment was reported, Statler was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control, and driving under suspension.
