The YMCA of Ashland OH Receives $30,000 Donation in Honor of YMCA Supporter Jud L. Sedwick

Ashland, OH — The YMCA of Ashland OH recently received a $30,000 donation from Armstrong and The Sedwick Charitable Foundation, given in memory of Jud L. Sedwick, a lifelong advocate of the YMCA and youth development.

Mr. Sedwick, a devoted member of the YMCA in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, had a strong passion for helping children. Through his charitable legacy, many underserved youths were able to participate in life-changing YMCA programs. His spirit of giving lives on through this donation—impacting families in the Ashland area.

YMCA CEO Molly Riley said the funds will support the organization’s Annual Campaign, For a Better Us. “This campaign helps provide access to memberships, programs, and facility use for those in need. We made a promise long ago that no child would be turned away due to inability to pay, and we’ve expanded that promise to include adults and families,” she said. “Gifts like this make it possible for us to keep that promise.”

The YMCA of Ashland OH has served the community for 120 years, promoting Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. As a partner agency of the Ashland County United Way, the YMCA remains focused on making a lasting impact in the lives of those it serves.
