Toys With Troopers: Holiday Toy Drive Returns to Ashland

ASHLAND — The season of giving has arrived, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Ashland Post is once again partnering with the Ashland Salvation Army Kroc Center for the annual “Toys With Troopers” holiday toy drive — a community tradition aimed at making Christmas brighter for local children.

This year’s collection runs November 25 through December 6, with donations accepted daily between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Ashland Post, 1711 East Main Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.

Ashland Salvation Army Kroc Center Major Billy Francis emphasized the importance of the drive as the center prepares for its annual Head Start Christmas Party.

“Help make the holidays brighter for local kids! The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Ashland Post and The Ashland Kroc Center are teaming up once again for our annual Holiday Toy Drive — and we’d love your help,” Francis said. “With our Head Start Christmas party coming up soon, we’re collecting toys to make the celebration extra special for little ones in our community.”

What to Donate

Organizers are asking for new, unwrapped toys, especially those suitable for children ages 3 to 5. However, donations for older children are also welcome. All gifts will remain in Ashland County to support families in need.

“Big or small, every gift helps bring joy,” Francis added.

If staff members are not immediately available at the post, donors can simply press the call button in the lobby and safely leave their gifts inside.

As the holiday season approaches, local officials and the Kroc Center are grateful for the outpouring of support the Ashland community shows each year.

“Let’s come together to spread hope, kindness, and holiday cheer,” Francis said. “Thank you for making a difference!”

Donations will be accepted until 8 p.m. on December 6, 2025.
