Two Transported Following Crash at U.S. Route 30 and State Route 511 in Ashland County

ASHLAND COUNTY – Emergency crews from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Hayesville Fire Department & EMS, and Ashland EMS responded to a two-vehicle crash this evening at the intersection of U.S. Route 30 and State Route 511.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:22 p.m. when Kenneth Berry, 81, of Perrysville, was traveling northbound on State Route 511. According to investigators, Berry attempted to cross U.S. Route 30 and failed to yield from a stop sign, pulling into the path of a westbound 2005 Ford F-150 driven by 30-year-old Darrick Coxson of Ashland. Coxson’s vehicle struck Berry’s 2019 Infiniti QX50 on the passenger side in a T-bone collision.

Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. Berry was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

As a result of the crash, State Route 511 was closed at U.S. Route 30 for about 30 minutes, and westbound U.S. Route 30 was reduced to one lane while crews cleared the scene.
