Wayne County Sheriff Travis Hutchinson Announced his Retirement

I have been honored to serve the citizens of Wayne County for nearly a half-century in law enforcement. By the end of 2024, I will have spent forty-seven years in uniform, with the last twelve years of my tenure spent as your Sheriff.

While it has been my honor to serve you all these many years, I have decided not to seek re-election as your Sheriff in 2024. I intend to keep my oath and serve to the best of my ability until my term ends on January 5, 2025.

I appreciate all the support you have given me over the years, and I thank you for the opportunity to serve. That said, I am looking forward to retirement, and life outside the uniform!
