Ashland Man Arrested Following METRICH Narcotics Search on West Fourth Street
ASHLAND, Ohio — A several-month investigation into suspected drug trafficking led to a search warrant at an Ashland residence Tuesday and the arrest of a 46-year-old man, according to a news release issued Wednesday by the METRICH Enforcement Unit.
Ashland detectives assigned to METRICH executed a narcotics-related search warrant September 29 at 226 W. Fourth St. They were assisted by the Ashland Special Response Team, Ashland Police Division and Ashland County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said the warrant followed months of investigation during which detectives conducted controlled drug purchases and gathered additional information supporting the search.
Reginald D. Huey, 46, of Ashland, was arrested following the investigation and search. According to the September 30 release, Huey was being held on charges related to drug possession.
The release did not identify the specific charges, the types or quantities of drugs involved, or any items recovered during the search. The case will be forwarded to the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Investigators said additional charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
METRICH thanked community members for providing tips that helped investigators carry out the search warrant and encouraged residents to continue reporting suspected drug activity.

The allegations against Huey have not been proven in court. He is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
