Nova Man Identified Following in Northern Ashland County
ASHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — An 83-year-old Nova man was found dead in a pond Saturday evening in northern Ashland County, according to Sheriff Kurt J. Schneider.
The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Ruggles-Troy Fire Department and Firelands EMS were dispatched at approximately 5:09 p.m. Sept. 5 to County Road 40 after receiving a report of an individual floating in a pond.
Upon arrival, first responders located an elderly man near the center of the pond.
The Ashland County Coroner’s Office was contacted, and a joint investigation was conducted with the Sheriff’s Office. The man was identified as Randall L. Bryan, 83, of Nova.
Schneider said investigators found no criminal indicators associated with the incident. No additional information concerning the circumstances or cause of death was released.
“Our prayers go out to the family,” Schneider said.
