17-Year-Old Killed in Morrow County Crash
MOUNT GILEAD, Ohio — A 17-year-old Fredericktown resident, identified as Harlie Albright, was killed Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Harmony Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 7 a.m. Sept. 3 at the intersection of County Road 170 and Township Road 187.
Investigators said Hunter Steck, 31, of Marengo, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on County Road 170. Albright was driving a 2010 Mazda 6 westbound on Township Road 187.
According to the Highway Patrol, Albright failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by Steck’s pickup truck. Following the collision, both vehicles traveled off the west side of County Road 170 and struck a ditch.
Albright was pronounced dead at the scene by Morrow County EMS. Steck sustained minor injuries.
Authorities reported that both drivers were wearing seat belts when the crash occurred.
The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Big Walnut Fire Department, Morrow County Fire Department, Bill’s Towing and the Morrow County Coroner.
The crash remains under investigation.
