Army Veteran Abe Neumann Promoted to Sergeant with Ashland Police Division

ASHLAND, Ohio — The Ashland Police Division is recognizing Abe Neumann following his recent promotion to the rank of sergeant.

Neumann began his career with the Ashland Police Division in October 2007 and has served the Ashland community for nearly 19 years.

“Abe has always been an officer you want to have with you on any call,” Ashland Police Chief Curt Dorsey said. “He’s a very capable leader. We are excited for him to lead a squad of officers and confident in his abilities.”

Before joining the police division, Neumann served in the United States Army from 2001 to 2004. During his military career, he worked as an indirect fire system operator and served as a squad supervisor.

Neumann also completed a combat tour in Iraq. He received several commendations for his military service and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.

His promotion places him in a leadership role overseeing a squad of Ashland police officers, drawing upon nearly two decades of local law enforcement experience and the leadership skills he developed while serving in the Army.

The promotion marks another milestone in Neumann’s long career of service to his country and the Ashland community.
