Fostering Family Ministries to Celebrate 10 Years at Annual Fundraising Banquet
ASHLAND, Ohio — Fostering Family Ministries will celebrate a decade of supporting foster children and families during its annual Made for Home Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, Oct. 1.
The banquet will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Estate Event Center, 1041 U.S. Route 250 in Ashland. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m.
The organization hopes to raise $150,000 during the event to continue its work with vulnerable children, foster families, churches and community partners. The first $30,000 donated will be matched by the Samaritan Hospital Foundation in Ashland.
This year’s banquet will also commemorate Fostering Family Ministries’ 10th anniversary. Founded in Ashland County in 2016, the organization has expanded its foster-care ministry and partnerships into more than 10 counties across north-central Ohio.
Jamie Finn, a foster and adoptive mother, author, podcast host and foster-care advocate, will serve as the event’s guest speaker. Finn is the founder and president of Foster the Family and the founder of the Filled Gathering.
She is also the author of several books, including “Foster the Family,” “Filled: 60 Devotions for the Foster Parent’s Heart” and “God Loves Kids: A Gospel-Centered Book About Foster Care.”
Finn and her husband, Alan, live in Sicklerville, New Jersey, and are parents to seven children through foster care, adoption and birth. Her social media platforms provide encouragement and insight into foster parenting for more than 100,000 foster and adoptive parents.
The banquet will include dinner, updates about the ministry’s work and a celebration of its community partnerships.
A VIP meet-and-greet for sponsors, table hosts, church champions and foster parents will begin at 5 p.m.
