Loudonville Police Report: Four Arrested During Busy Week of Calls
LOUDONVILLE, Ohio — Loudonville police officers made four arrests, investigated vandalism and responded to numerous disturbances, medical emergencies and suspicious-person complaints between Aug. 30 and Sept. 5.
Two arrests occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Aug. 30 after officers responded to the 100 block of North Water Street for a report of two intoxicated men allegedly discussing fighting other people. Officers located the men in a nearby parking lot.
A 60-year-old Massillon man and a 36-year-old Mansfield man were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct while voluntarily intoxicated and transported to the Ashland County Jail.
Later that day, at approximately 4:26 p.m., officers responded to the 3000 block of State Route 3 for a reported domestic violence incident. A 34-year-old Bloomville man was arrested on a domestic violence charge and taken to the county jail.
Police also assisted the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office with another reported domestic violence incident that evening in the 100 block of East Second Street in Perrysville.
On Sept. 4, officers stopped a driver for a moving violation in the 3000 block of State Route 3. Police discovered the driver had an active warrant from Lorain County. The driver was arrested and transported to the Ashland County Jail pending transfer.
Vandalism investigation underway
Shortly after midnight Sept. 2, officers discovered that a public restroom on South Birch Drive had been vandalized. Police reported that the investigation remains ongoing.
Officers conducting restroom security checks on Sept. 5 found a person sleeping in the 100 block of South Brentwood Drive. Police spoke with the individual and provided resources for assistance.
Minutes later, officers found an unoccupied vehicle parked after hours on South Birch Drive. No one was located in the surrounding area.
Bloodied individual prompts concern
A report of a suspicious person brought officers to the 500 block of Kettering Drive at approximately 10:34 a.m. Sept. 5.
The caller reported seeing someone emerge from a tree line wearing tan pants stained with blood and accompanied by a dog. Officers located the individual and learned that the dog had broken free from its leash and run into the woods.
The person reportedly followed the dog into thick brush and suffered several cuts to the lower legs. Loudonville EMS treated the injuries at the scene, but the individual declined ambulance transportation to a hospital.
Additional calls and traffic enforcement
Other incidents handled during the week included:
Officers responded to the 3000 block of State Route 3 after a caller reported people shaking a tent and camper. Police did not locate those responsible.
A 54-year-old Howard man was cited for expired registration plates and failing to wear a seat belt during an Aug. 30 traffic stop.
Police assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol in attempting to locate a vehicle that reportedly fled a crash scene.
Officers responded to a reported trespassing complaint in the 700 block of North Spring Street. The individuals involved left the property.
Police took a fraud report at the station on Aug. 31.
Officers assisted sheriff’s deputies in Perrysville with locating a person who had multiple arrest warrants.
A 45-year-old Perrysville man was cited Sept. 3 for allegedly failing to stop at a stop sign.
Police helped remove a fallen tree from a Holmes County roadway and provided traffic control for a disabled vehicle on State Route 39.
A 23-year-old Ashland man was cited Sept. 5 for driving without a license and warned for allegedly failing to use a turn signal.
Officers also responded to business and security alarms, medical complaints, disturbances, reckless-driving reports and requests for assistance from neighboring law enforcement agencies.
During the reporting period, Loudonville police conducted 24 business checks and 11 additional traffic stops that resulted in warnings.
