Potentially Dangerous Materials Removed, Some Safely Detonated During Loudonville Search
LOUDONVILLE — Law Enforcement removed potentially dangerous materials from a North Union Street residence Wednesday morning, with some materials safely detonated at the scene, according to Loudonville Police Department Chief of Police Sean Gorrell.

Multiple agencies executed a search warrant at approximately 10 a.m. on October 7, 2026, at 826 North Union Street.
Participating agencies included the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office and its Bomb Squad, Loudonville Police Department (LPD), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Ohio State Fire Marshal, and Loudonville Fire Department/EMS.
LPD said materials and items that posed a potential danger to the community were removed from the residence. Some materials were safely detonated in a controlled environment at the scene by Ashland County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad, while others will be submitted for laboratory testing.
Once testing is complete, the case will be submitted to the Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
LPD Chief Sean Gorrell said the scene is safe and there is no threat to the community.
