REMINDER: FREE FLY-FISHING CLASS RETURNS TO ASHLAND COUNTY!
Get ready to cast into a new outdoor adventure! Following the tremendous turnout at its first fly-fishing class, the Ashland County Park District is bringing the popular program back for another exciting evening.
The free “Learn to Fly Fish” class will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the David McClure Outdoor Education Center in Tom Kruse Wildlife Conservation Park.
Adults and children age 12 and older are welcome, whether they have never held a fly rod or already know the basics and want to improve their casting.
Experienced local anglers will teach participants about rods, reels, artificial flies, casting techniques and the fundamentals needed to begin catching fish. Intermediate anglers may also bring their equipment, fish the pond and receive coaching.
Don’t have a fly rod? No problem! Equipment will be available for participants to use. Those who own a rod are encouraged to bring it.
The class is 100% free, but advance registration is required so organizers can prepare enough equipment.
