Shop With a Cop Silent Auction Set for Sunday at O’Bryan’s Pub

ASHLAND, Ohio — A silent auction Sunday, Nov. 8, will raise money to help children from across Ashland County shop with local first responders this Christmas season.

The annual Shop With a Cop fundraiser runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at O’Bryan’s Pub, 1640 Claremont Ave. in Ashland. The public is invited to bid on baskets and other prizes donated by local businesses and community members.

Ashland Police Division Detective Kara Pearce said donations have helped nearly 1,000 children participate in the program over the past three years. Depending on how much the program raises, each child typically receives $115 to $150 to spend during the shopping trip.

Children selected for the program meet at Walmart for pastries and a visit with Santa before heading through the store with a First Responder. Each child also receives extra money to pick out a toy to donate to the Ashland Fire Department’s Red Helmet program.

Organizers accept prepared baskets, individual items to include in baskets, gift cards, gift certificates and monetary donations. For questions about donating, contact Pearce at 419-606-1140 or pearce.kara@ashland-ohio.com.
