Loudonville Police Respond to Medical Calls, Reckless Driving Complaints and Weekend OVI Arrest

 

LOUDONVILLE, Ohio — Loudonville police handled a variety of calls between June 7 and June 13, including medical assists, reckless driving complaints, traffic stops, a vehicle rollover and an OVI arrest.

The week began on June 7 when officers were dispatched to the area of Wooster Road near the corporation limits to assist the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to locate a vehicle involved in a road rage incident. The vehicle was not found. Later that day, officers assisted EMS with a female having a medical emergency at Mohican Adventures campground and responded to Lost Horizon’s Campgrounds to assist the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office with an active fight.

On June 9, Loudonville police assisted EMS twice, first in the 100 block of North Water Street for a male with a wrist laceration and later in the 100 block of North Wood Street for a female with a medical complaint. The female was transported to the hospital. That evening, officers responded to Main Street and North Mt. Vernon Avenue for a reckless operation complaint, but the vehicle was not located. Police also responded to Mickey Mart for a report of a male stumbling through the parking lot. Officers determined the man was experiencing medical issues, and EMS transported him to the hospital.

On June 10, police received a request for a welfare check on a juvenile. Officers determined the juvenile was living in Canton, contacted Canton police, and the juvenile was located and found to be okay. Officers also responded to the Par Mar gas station for a civil standby and later conducted a traffic stop near Wally Road and West Main Street, where a 52-year-old Orrville man was cited for a traffic control violation and a turn signal violation.

On June 11, police cited a 45-year-old Loudonville man for driving under suspension following a traffic stop near North Spring Street and Mill Road. Later that night, officers responded to the area of State Route 39 and Township Road 455 for a vehicle with brakes on fire. Police arrived and extinguished the fire.

The week ended with several calls on June 13. Police responded to the Arrow Point campgrounds area for a vehicle rollover. Later that evening, officers conducted a traffic stop near McDonald’s for a speed violation. A 50-year-old Medina man was arrested for OVI and also cited for speed. Officers also assisted the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office on a traffic stop and later cited a 23-year-old Wooster man for having an open container in a motor vehicle during a traffic stop near the State Park.

During the week of June 7 through June 13, Loudonville police also conducted nine traffic stop warnings and four business checks
