Brookside Pool and Mini Golf Set to Kick Off Summer Fun Memorial Day Weekend

ASHLAND — Summer is almost here, and Brookside Park is ready to help Ashland families jump right into the season.

Brookside Pool and the Brookside Park Mini Golf Course will both open for the 2026 season on Saturday, May 23, giving families a full Memorial Day weekend of swimming, putt-putt golf, sunshine and outdoor fun.

Mayor Matt Miller recently shared the good news during an interview, saying the city’s mini golf course is ready to welcome families back for another season.

“Putt Putt Golf will open. Our mini golf course will open,” Miller said.

Even better, thanks to the generosity of Don and Jean Meyers, the opening weekend will include free rounds of mini golf for everyone throughout Memorial Day weekend.

“They’re covering the cost,” Miller said. “So, anyone who wants to bring their family and children out to go mini golfing this Memorial Day weekend, it will be able to be a free round of golf on Don and Jean Meyers.”

Miller said the Meyers family has been a strong supporter of the Brookside Park Mini Golf Course over the years.

“They’ve been very, very generous over the years fixing up that mini golf course and funding these free rounds of golf,” Miller said.

The Brookside Park Mini Golf Course will open Saturday, May 23, and will be open daily from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the last game beginning at 8:15 p.m. Regular fees are $3 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under, though opening weekend rounds will be covered through the Meyers’ donation.

The course, located inside Brookside Park, offers a family-friendly setting for both experienced mini golfers and those just looking for a fun way to spend an afternoon or evening.

Brookside Pool will also open Saturday, May 23, with hours from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The pool features an L-shaped main pool, kiddie wading pool, diving boards, water slides and swimming areas for all ages.

Miller said city crews have been working hard to get the pool ready for summer.

“I know that Missy is getting it all cleaned up and ready for the pool season,” Miller said. “She’s been busy working and getting the team in place.”

Opening weekend pool hours will be Saturday, May 23, from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 24, and Monday, May 25, from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Regular pool hours begin Friday, June 5, with the pool open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Sundays and holidays from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Daily pool rates for 2026 are $5 for adults, $4 for youth ages 10 to 15, $3 for children ages 4 to 9, and $2 for non-swimming adult caregivers. Splash Passes, good for 10 visits, are available for $40.

Brookside Pool will also offer swim lessons this summer from June 22 through June 26 and June 29 through July 3. The cost is $20 per child, and registration forms may be turned in at Brookside Pool after opening day.

With free mini golf, the pool opening, and Memorial Day weekend marking the unofficial start of summer, Brookside Park is expected to be one of the places to be in Ashland this weekend.
