Free Showing of Ashland-Made Vampire Film “Blood & Rust” Set for Tonight at The Ashland Theatre

ASHLAND, Ohio — A new movie filmed and produced right here in Ashland will make its free premiere tonight at The Ashland Theatre.

Blood & Rust, an original vampire film by Cranked Up Films, associated with Good Deed Entertainment, will be shown today, May 15, at 7 p.m. The screening is free to the public.

The film carries the chilling tagline: “Ancient evil has found a new home.”

Set in the fading rustbelt town of Redpatch, Ohio, Blood & Rust follows Lamont Guest, a burned-out diner manager whose life is turned upside down after his father dies in what appears to be a strange animal attack. As nights grow darker and shadows seem heavier, Lamont crosses paths with Belko, a mysterious drifter and road-weary vampire slayer.

Together, they are pulled into a fight against an ancient evil that is slowly bleeding Lamont’s hometown dry.

The movie was filmed and produced in Ashland by the community’s own Cranked Up Films, giving local residents a chance to see Ashland’s creative talent on the big screen.

Although Blood & Rust is not rated by the MPA, organizers say the content is considered PG-13.

The free premiere begins at 7 p.m. tonight at The Ashland Theatre.
