Ashland City Schools Terminates Employee, Places Second on Leave Amid Misconduct Investigation
ASHLAND, Ohio — Ashland City Schools has terminated one employee and placed another on administrative leave following confirmed and alleged misconduct involving staff members at Edison Elementary School.
According to a press release issued Friday, the district said the incident came to light on the evening of Tuesday, April 14, 2026. A Noon Duty Paraprofessional at Edison Elementary was terminated after misconduct was confirmed. A second Noon Duty Paraprofessional has been placed on paid administrative leave while an investigation into alleged misconduct continues.
School officials said both employees were immediately removed from their duties once the district became aware of the concerns.
The district is working in coordination with the Ashland Police Department and School Resource Officers as part of an ongoing investigation. Officials emphasized that the process will be both thorough and fair to all individuals involved.
At this time, the district stated there is no ongoing risk to students, and steps have been taken to ensure a safe school environment.
“Student and staff safety remains our highest priority,” the district said in its statement, adding that it remains committed to its core value of creating a “circle of safety” within its schools.
