Medina County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash on State Route 252
LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP, OH — The Medina County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that happened early Tuesday morning on State Route 252, also known as Columbia Road, near Boston Road in Liverpool Township.
According to a media release from the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the single-motorcycle crash at approximately 1:31 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
Investigators said the crash involved a 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by 41-year-old James Hennis. The preliminary investigation indicates Hennis was traveling southbound when the motorcycle went off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree stump, and overturned into a wooded area.
Hennis was transported by Valley City Fire & EMS to Brunswick Cleveland Clinic Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The sheriff’s office said alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and the Medina County Coroner’s Office pending further review and toxicology results.
Valley City Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
